5/26/2018 – Endodontics in the Era of Implants
ADA NSW CPD

 

This one day course will be a stimulating conversation in treatment planning between specialist endodontist Alan Nerwich and restorative dentist Nick Hocking. The day will be spent hearing Alan and Nick treatment plan numerous complex scenarios, real life scenarios where genuine records and radiographs will be discussed and ideal and compromised treatment plans are created. This will be a day of combined lectures and case presentations.

6/1/2018 – Safe Management of Dental Pain with Medicines
ADA NSW CPD

 

Maximising medication efficacy and minimizing risks for different people, with different co-morbidities and different types of pain. This seminar will cover all the issues of using medicines for pain management you wish they’d taught you at university. There will be ample time for discussion including case examples and challenges faced in clinical practice.

6/13/2018 – Medical Emergency Certification Training
ADA NSW CPD

 

This hands-on course leads to certification in Advanced Life Support for dentists and staff. The training is designed to provide the practitioner and their support staff with a simple algorithm for the management of medical emergencies within the practice. Participants will learn about the most common life threatening medical conditions, how to recognise them and how to conduct a quick and accurate clinical assessment and lead the practice team in providing effective treatment.

6/15/2018 – The Basics of Clinical Photography

An introductory course for beginners. Clinical photography is not just about beautiful white teeth or cosmetic artistry. With today’s digital technology every dentist can chronicle what they see in the mouth, whether for general records or whenever the situation warrants photographic documentation. The closest thing to the reality of the mouth is a photograph.

6/18/2018 –  Extended Fixed Prosthodontics 1
Continuing Education in Dentistry, University of Sydney

 

Extended Fixed Prosthodontics is the most comprehensive short course in Australia in prosthodontics, with fixed prosthodontics topics presented in lectures and panel discussions. Insights into various interfaces with technical laboratories, removable prosthodontics and other disciplines (endodontics, periodontics and orthodontics) are presented. The course offers over 20 hours of supervised clinical simulation practice. Convened by Dr Agnes Lai, the course is taught over 5 days by 14 presenters.

6/22/2018 – Advanced Contemporary Endodontics
ADA NSW Centre for Professional Development

 

This two-day hands-on seminar offers personalised, high level training for general dentists wishing to pursue excellence in endodontics, and will teach state-of-the-art evidence-based procedures in root canal preparation and obturation, with a focus on recent advances in endodontic diagnosis and materials. Important techniques for avoiding and managing endodontic procedural problems and contemporary methods for removal of obturation materials and obstructions from root canals will be introduced.
